Roanoke radiates with a feeling of hometown friendliness and neighborly concern for providing a safe and pleasant place to live.
We’re proud of our community with its blend of tradition and progress, whether in revitalizing the old or expanding for the future.
Roanoke is in Jackson Township, in the northeast portion of Huntington County. It is ideally located between the cities of Fort Wayne (ten miles) and Huntington (eight miles), with easy access to Fort
Wayne International Airport (seven miles).
The I-469 Bypass, U.S. 24, and State Roads 9 and 114 make it convenient to travel to other cities and many recreational areas throughout northern Indiana. Roanoke is close enough to several large cities to be beneficial, yet far removed from urban congestion. The area is considered one of the fastest growing in Huntington County.
The small town atmosphere, rural setting, and public services are attractive to those who settle here. Roanoke has several housing developments within the town limits and building sites on the fringes of town for people who are seeking a more rural setting while continuing to enjoy the benefits of town.
For the 2004-2005 and the 2005-2006 school years, Roanoke Elementary achieved the prestigious "Four
Star" award from the State of Indiana Department of
Education, making it the the 3rd time in
the last ten years that the school has achieved that honor!
Roanoke’s solid economic base is significant for industry and community expansion. Friendly people, rural settings, successful businesses, and a desire to grow has made
Roanoke a much sought after home for many people and businesses.
